betty to make new fact ent series Man Up for Fox

Betty has been commissioned to make a new 10 part fact ent documentary format series which sees geeky guys transformed into confident, desirable men.

Man Up is one of the first series solely-produced by UK a production team in the channel’s history, as FOX continues its pledge to bring smart entertainment with an edge to a wider audience.

The 10 x 60” series explores the male psyche taking mummys’ boys and geeks and transforming them into brilliant, capable men. David Emerson and Ian Carré are executive producers and Walter Iuzzolino is the Creative Director for betty. Man Up was commissioned by Nicole Streak, Commissioning Editor - Factual Entertainment FIC Europe.

Jason Thorp, EVP Content Europe & MD UK Africa commented: “It is an extremely exciting time for FOX as we look to broaden our audiences and venture into new genres with these European commissions. We have been working with the pick of the UK indie community to bring bold, exciting new propositions to viewers.”

Nicole Streak, Commissioning Editor - Factual Entertainment FIC Europe added: “betty produces modern, high-quality programming and has been responsible for recent smash hits such as The Undateables. We are thrilled to be working with production companies that share FOX’s vision and passion for story-telling.”

Walter Iuzzolino said:“betty’s signature lies in creating character-led programmes which tap into social trends and resonate with a broad audience. Man Up is a warm and humorous show which takes men who haven’t flown the nest, dowses them in oestrogen and exposes them to a woman’s world giving them the confidence to take the next step in their lives.”

Production is currently underway for both series and they are scheduled to air later this year on FOX.
