DNI Fires Up The Food Truck With New Series The Fabulous Baker Brothers: A Bite of Britain (W/T)

(London, UK, August 12, 2014): Discovery Networks International (DNI) today announced that it has commissioned production partner betty to produce a brand-new 6x60-minute series THE FABULOUS BAKER BROTHERS: A BITE OF BRITAIN (WT), set to premiere internationally on DNI’s portfolio of lifestyle networks in 220 countries and territories from early 2015.

Building on the success of the first two seasons of betty’s THE FABULOUS BAKER BROTHERS featuring baker Tom Herbert and his chef brother Henry, the new series will take the boys on the road across Great Britain in search of the very best of British producers to dispel the myth that British food isn’t the best in Europe and show viewers at home what they can achieve by cooking everything outdoors in fire pits, on BBQs and using camping stoves. Armed with their mobile kitchen, the Gloucester duo will crisscross the country in their van to source and cook up the finest British grub – all set against a stunning, quintessentially English backdrop from the lush Lake District to the picturesque Rye coast in East Sussex.

Each hour-long episode of THE FABULOUS BAKER BROTHERS: A BITE OF BRITAIN (WT) explores local flavors, delicacies and settings while showcasing Tom and Henry’s creative ability to transform whatever is available into gourmet food on the go. The Herberts will draw inspiration from each location they visit, handpicking delicious ingredients and unearthing the culinary gems that make each place special. They’ll use these raw ingredients fresh from the

ground, river or sea, and turn them into mouthwatering dishes cooking everything from scratch outdoors. Whether it is salmon fresh from the River Severn or a fire pit-cooked roast boar, the pair will bring their unique twist to what’s on offer. Along the way, Tom and Henry will meet the locals whose produce is iconic to that destination and at the end of each show, these lucky folks will be invited to join them in a feast and later vote for what they think is the best dish.
